Barcelona 2 Man Utd 0
It's been a while since I blogged eh? I know this may seem akward that I blog right now but I just have some things in my head that I wanna let out.
I just came back from watching my favourite team being outplayed for most of the match and being second best for most of the match. Man Utd were simply an embarrassment. Losing 2-0 to Barcelona was not the one that I meant by an embarrassment but they way the whole team played.
For the first 7 minutes, it was apparent that Man Utd were going all out attack. It was something that I hoped for and what I wanted to watch. I wanted to see Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Park Ji-Sung torment Barcelona's makeshift defence. In fact, they did shake their defence a bit. Then, Barcelona's first attack on Man Utd's defence came out with a goal.
For just 10 minutes, Barcelona were 1 goal up and that's where I supposed to go home. Man Utd looked like a mid-table team such as Athletico Madrid or Manchester City playing against Barcelona. The most disappointing part is that Man Utd kept on losing the ball and giving it away unnecessarily . How embarrassing is that? Call themselve a world class team, dreaming of the quadruple or quintuple. That's not the way to play if they wanted to achieve the impossible.
I must say, I am a fan of Man Utd. But they way they played just now makes me wonder what ever happened to the Man Utd I supported last year. Are they just a ghost of their past? I hope not...
All I'm hoping for now is the new season which kicks off in August will bring more flair and attacking football from Man Utd, no matter who is in the team. I hope Carlos Tevez will stay.
